4th edition Biodiversity Conservation Awards

This publication presents the work of awardees in the various prize categories:

• Award for Biodiversity Conservation Projects in Spain
• Award for Biodiversity Conservation Projects in Mexico
• Award for Knowledge Dissemination and Communication in Biodiversity Conservation

The BBVA Foundation Awards for Biodiversity Conservationseek to recognize and reward the work done by conservationist organizations, institutions and agencies in carrying forward environmental conservation policies and projects, and the efforts of communication professionals who have placed their abilities at the service of protecting our natural heritage.

The research category has now been integrated within the BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Awards , with Ecology and Conservation Biology taking its place in this prize family alongside the seven domains of Basic Sciences, Biology and Biomedicine, Information and Communication Technologies, Climate Change, Economics, Finance and Management, Humanities and Social Sciences, Music and Opera. The BBVA Foundation hopes in this way to strengthen recognition for the international research undertaken in this area and, at the same time, to make the Biodiversity Conservation Awards primarily a showcase for outstanding practical and communicative efforts.
