DESCRIPTION
This research project examines the environmental particularities (natural, legislative, sociocultural and market-related) that they have met along the way. Specifically, it analyses the repercussions of environmental issues on the strategy decisions of international companies, and the resulting impact on their financial returns.
The aim is to gather empirical evidence providing a descriptive overview of the different functional and strategic behaviour patterns of international European firms. Two questions are posed in this respect: 1) what environmental strategy approaches have companies been taking in the production-logistics and human resources areas once embarked on the internationalisation process, and 2) what consequences ensue for their business operation and the environment. The analysis centres on two factors: a) the management of earnings flows and b) the possible enrichment of jobs through the fold-in of environmental responsibilities.
