Prospective analysis of the social and private profitability of the holm oak and cork forestation between 1994 and 2000 within the frame of the 2080/92 regulations

A survey will be conducted among government officers with responsibilities for forestation monitoring to determine the surface areas planted, the costs entailed and compensation payments committed or accruing. Forested areas will be groups into three levels of natural growth, and forestry techniques will be adapted to the most prevalent regional practices.

Prospective analysis will be on the basis of cost/benefit extensible to monetised environmental values and will be performed on finite and infinite time scales. The latter process will provide a price range per hectare of holm oak or cork depending on the age of the trees.
