DESCRIPTION
This research project seeks to extend the analysis of ancient DNA from Iberian lynxes to archaeozoological and paleontological samples. This will facilitate exploration of the genetic changes the species has undergone in a period that clearly precedes any recent anthropic perturbation, and may help to clarify the numerous uncertainties that persist regarding the species’ evolutionary past and historic distribution.
