‘Altitudinal gradients of ozone in pasture communities (GALOPA)’

Fieldwork will accordingly be supplemented with experiments conducted under controlled and semi controlled conditions. The results of the project will be of use in documenting these altitudinal gradients, establishing the sensitivity of the pasture species present, and determining the possible impact in the area of O3. The data obtained may also serve to set precise damage thresholds (critical levels) for this pollutant in the framework of current international agreements, and to establish reduction strategies for the emission of O3 precursors. Finally, the knowledge acquired during the project will be checked against the situation prevailing in the area around Mexico City.
